Sanitizing & deodorizingWhole-system duct and dryer vent check with before-and-after photos - you see exactly what came out of your vents
That "$99 whole-house special" is a bait ad - the real number appears once they are in your hallway, or the "clean" is a shop-vac at the register. We photograph the inside of your ducts before and after instead.
Air Duct Cleaning Before & After in New York, NY
Most people never see the inside of their own ductwork, so they take the “before” on faith and pay for the “after” sight unseen. We think that’s backwards. Every Kestrel job includes before-and-after photos of your actual ducts, taken with a scope camera while the system is open. You see the debris, then you see the bare metal. No imagination required, and no reason to wonder whether anything changed.

Post-Renovation Drywall Dust Throughout a Prewar Building System
Before
AfterThe building had gone through a gut renovation, and the ducts were never sealed off. Every register in the apartment was blowing a fine white powder, and the tenant had given up on dusting. We ran a Rotobrush rotary brush through the supply and return runs to break the caked gypsum off the duct walls, then pulled the loosened material out with a Nikro negative-pressure unit so it never re-entered the rooms. The after-photo showed bare galvanized metal where the before had looked like a snowbank.
Twenty Years of Dust and Pet Hair in a Family Brownstone’s Return Ducts
Before
AfterA brownstone family with two dogs and a cat called us because one bedroom never seemed to get warm air in winter. The return duct serving that room was nearly half blocked, packed with years of hair, dust, and the odd toy a child had dropped through a floor register. We removed the blockage, brushed the full run, and ran the Abatement Technologies HEPA filter at the register during the work so nothing migrated into the nursery. The difference in airflow, and in the smell of the room, was immediate.
Kitchen Grease Film and Lint Accumulation in a Condo’s Shared Main Trunk
Before
AfterIn a high-rise condo, the main trunk line serving the kitchen and laundry area had picked up a greasy film from years of cooking exhaust recirculation, plus dryer lint that had settled on every surface. We brought in our full setup: Rotobrush agitation to break the film at the duct wall, Nikro negative-pressure to pull the contaminated air out of the building, and the Abatement HEPA unit to scrub what the brush kicked up. The after-scope showed clean metal, and the musty smell that had hung in the hallway was gone.
Mold and Mildew in a Riverside Building’s Basement Supply Runs

Buildings near the water in New York fight humidity all summer, and that moisture ends up in the coolest place in the house: the air ducts. We were called to a building where the basement supply runs showed visible mold growth on the interior walls. After mapping the system, we agitated every affected run with the Rotobrush, extracted with the Nikro unit, and kept a HEPA filter running at the farthest register to catch airborne spores. The after-photo showed clean metal, and we flagged the humidity issue so the owner could address it at the source.
Debris From a Prior Contractor’s “Cleaning” Left Loose in the Ducts

A homeowner in the city called us after another company had “cleaned” the ducts and left what looked like a sand dune inside the supply line. They’d knocked debris loose with a shop vac attachment and never extracted it. We re-scoped the system, showed the homeowner the pile on camera, then ran the full process correctly: brush agitation from every accessible register, negative-pressure pull at the main trunk, and a final scope to prove the metal was exposed. The homeowner kept both sets of photos, before and after, because the difference was that stark.
